Our Staff (the secret to our program!)

At Outpost Summer Camp, our carefully selected and comprehensively trained counselors ensure that every camper's day is a safe, exciting, and memorable one. Beyond the standard CPR and First Aid certification, our staff have a special ability to help campers express themselves and build lasting friendships in an adventure environment. They are caring, positive leaders who the campers look up to and learn from at camp.

Outpost Summer Camp Staff

Most programs for children place the focus on the activities, and the counselors are there to primarily take them from one activity to the next. Outpost Summer Camp is constructed around the skill and creativity of each counselor. Our staff play games, lead hikes, teach crafts, make up stories and learn something special about each child in their group. Along the way, they help campers grow and develop during the summer season, guiding them through the process of learning and mastering new skills, creating and maintaining positive peer relationships, and enjoying themselves outdoors.

Outpost StaffOutpost Summer Camp has several categories of staff. Our Administrative Team is made up of professionals who take responsibility for each component of the camp program. Senior Counselors have completed at least one year of college or the equivalent, primarily drive the camp vans and are directly responsible for each group. They are certified in First Aid and CPR, and are chosen for their blend of responsibility, creativity, enthusiasm and sensitivity. They also supervise the Junior Counselors that help them with their groups. Junior Counselors have recently completed either 9th, 10th or 11th grade and work with the younger groups in camp, complete thorough staff training and are evaluated once a session by their Senior Counselor. Specialists provide support to the counselors and lead additional program activities.
