Summer is on the way - Welcome to Outpost! 2012 marks our 11th summer serving San Diego families. We're pleased to introduce ourselves. Outpost offers families and their children traditional day camp programs, located outdoors in convenient and safe locations. Our campers spend their days in small groups with carefully selected and personally trained staff focused entirely on the success of each child, encouraging them to explore and play, swim and enjoy the outdoors. Outpost is intentionally designed as a unique community for both our campers and staff. Our sessions are two and three weeks long - providing the opportunity for everyone to build lasting relationships that encourage healthy development, positive risk-taking and a sense of belonging and security. This all translates to one overwhelming response from our campers - Outpost is FUN! Ask around! You may have already heard wonderful things about us. We've earned a terrific reputation as a leader in summer day camping, both locally and nationally. Because of this, I often speak at youth-oriented conferences on the impact our camp and other camps like Outpost have on children, explaining what we do and teaching how to do it. We're proud of our organization and our commitment to the development of each child in our programs. Our current camp parents love serving as references for our program, as Outpost is an investment in your child's development. Most often, these parents describe seeing in their child an increase in willingness to try new things, a greater comfort level with social situations, more confidence in making and keeping friends, and a huge desire to return for more camp the next season! This upcoming summer of 2012, my son begins his 7th summer at Outpost and his first in our Senior Outpost program. Camp has made a tremendous difference in his development, and in that of my other two Outpost campers. I've had the unique pleasure of watching my own children blossom through their participation in our program, from increased self-confidence to pride and excitement in both new and continuing friendships. Outpost is a special place that changes lives, and I invite you and your family to join ours at camp. |

We're family owned and operated (my wife directs our FRIENDS program and my sister-in-law directs our Pre Camp program), and I'm a proud parent to three Outpost campers (photos below!) - who tell me "all kids should do it!" Of course I am biased, but I definitely agree with my kids - they are the experts more than I am, and they often proudly and confidently explain just how great it is to anyone willing to listen!
